Youth Officials Training Academy (YOTA)

The Committee’s responsibility is to organize the recruiting, training and retention of junior officials for youth lacrosse. This is an organizing and communications committee that will work with the LOAs and leagues to get more junior officials trained. Game rules knowledge and training abilities are not required. The entities to be represented are:

·         Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation (WLF)

·         Wisconsin Lacrosse Officials Association (WILOA)

·         Wisconsin Ladies Lacrosse Officials Association (WLLOA)

·         Badgerland Lacrosse Association (BLA)

·         Bay Valley Lacrosse Association (BVA)

·         Milwaukee Area Youth Lacrosse Association (MAYLA)

Committee members do not need to be on an existing lacrosse board nor a direct representative of the above associations. Only be from the region or have an association with those entities.

WLF League Representatives

League representatives are selected by their corresponding approved league and are members of the WLF Board. They are not considered for purposes of quorum of the full Board. The representatives shall only be granted voting rights on matters before the WLF which directly impact the conferences/leagues that they represent. When voting, the vote will be weighted based on the following scale:

            1 vote – 1 to 10 teams in the league/conference
            2 votes – 11-16 teams in the league/conference
3 votes – 17 or more teams in the league/conference

In all instances, eligibility to vote is based on the gender-specific team count within each program/club on the matter before the board. The number of teams in a program/club shall be determined based upon the number of registered/paid team registrations from the prior season.

There are 8-10 meetings per year.
